Food Celebrity’s Almond Tips
and Recipes Reach Millions
For the second consecutive year, the California Almond industry partnered with bestselling cookbook author and Food Network star Robin Miller to educate the industry’s primary consumer target audience about the benefits of almonds. With 18 years of experience as a food writer and nutritionist, Miller is a credible force driving demand for almonds.
This year’s program has generated significant media coverage, reaching the food- and health-involved female target audience with timesaving solutions to satisfy her need for control and success. At the onset of the year, Miller developed quick and simple, budget-friendly almond recipes to bolster media outreach throughout the year. Major tactics included a "Quick-Fix Healthy Almond Dinners" press kit issued to 300 food and nutrition editors, a supertasking e-newsletter series, and a series of radio interviews in top markets across the country.
As a result of the California Almond industry’s efforts, Miller’s almond recipes appeared in high circulation newspapers across the country, including the San Diego Union-Tribune and the Arizona Republic. Noteworthy radio coverage included KFWB FM in Los Angeles and WTOP FM in Washington, D.C., among others.
Miller appeared on NBC’s Today show, incorporating almond messages during a segment reaching over 4.6 million viewers. Miller advanced her Quick Fix strategies, including her almond-crusted chicken morphing tip, and she recommended almond butter sandwiches as a healthy lunch option.
To date, the program has generated over 12.8 million media impressions, surpassing the measurement goal of five million impressions.
