Celebrity Trainer Talks Up Almonds with Dr. Oz and Others

The Almond Board of California recently partnered with Chris Powell, the celebrity trainer and transformation expert who stars on ABC TV’s “Extreme Weight Loss,” as he gave tips to men looking to lose fat and gain muscle for summer, always including almond messaging prominently.

Celebrity trainer Chris Powell appeared on “Dr. Oz,” “Good
Morning America” and local morning news shows across
the U.S., and with magazine editors in New York City, to
tout almonds as a smart snack for men looking to get in
shape for summer.
First, Powell appeared on “The Dr. Oz Show” on May 10. Then, on May 28, the Almond Board distributed a press release in conjunction with the season premiere of the show that evening, and Powell appeared on “Good Morning America.”

The next day, Powell starred in a coast-to-coast satellite media tour of 23 TV and radio interviews, including top markets such as New York City, Philadelphia, Denver and Cleveland.

After the virtual tour, Powell hosted a small media event with editors from Reader’s Digest, Complex magazine and Remedy’s Healthy Living magazine, in which he led them through one of his full-body workouts, followed by a smart snack that included prominent messages about almonds and almond butter in a signature smoothie.
