As we put the 2012/2013 crop year in the rear-view mirror, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved for making The 2012 Almond Conference such a success. The move to Sacramento presented many unknowns, yet the conference grew by 25%!
This year’s conference, again to be held in Sacramento, promises to be even larger and has some exciting new features that I know you will appreciate. One is the expanded Research Poster Session, which highlights the fine work done in production, environmental, nutrition, and food quality and safety research. Also, the latest Research Update (formerly known as the Proceedings) makes its debut at The Almond Conference and continues to be one of the most sought-after industry resources by growers.
Another new feature this year will be a formal presentation of
some of the winning projects by the current class in the Almond
Leadership Program. All of the projects will be on display, and
the participants will be on hand to answer questions.
Your Industry Services Committee meets regularly with its main goal being to support and guide Almond Board of California staff as they evaluate the importance and relevance of The Almond Conference and other programs and materials to industry members. Your attendance and participation at these committee meetings is encouraged and appreciated.
