Almond Symposium to Address South Valley Production Issues

The Southern San Joaquin Valley Almond Symposium, presented by UC Cooperative Extension, will be held Wednesday, June 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Kerman Community Center. This is the first almond meeting organized by new Fresno/Madera County nut crop farm advisor Gurreet Brar. Area almond growers are urged to attend to hear presentations on:

  • Designing and developing a new orchard
  • Almond yield potential
  • Managing navel orangeworm
  • Managing hull rot
  • Postharvest/dormant pest management
  • Almond Board of California programs and activities

CEUs have been approved as follows:

  • PCAs – 2.5 (Other)
  • CCAs – 3.5 (Intergrated Pest Management – 1.5, Crop Management – 1.5, Professional Development – 0.5)

Registration is $10, which includes lunch, and is required by June 6.
