ABC Inspires Its Executive Chef Targets

“Going Global with California Almonds” guided tasting
engages executive chefs at Culinary Institute of America’s
Napa Valley campus.
The Almond Board of California recently attended two key events targeting foodservice professionals — The Flavor Experience in Newport Beach, and the Flavor, Quality and American Menus conference at the Culinary Institute of America’s Napa Valley campus. Both events are attended by executive chefs looking to gain knowledge on the latest trends, and to take recipe inspiration back to their operations. These events always attract high-profile establishments, and this year was no exception, with chefs attending from The Cheesecake Factory, BJ’s, Applebee’s and Darden Restaurants.

ABC used the interactive venues to show how almonds’ versatility provides value and consumer appeal across the menu and parts of the day. Activities included guided tastings, market-basket exercises, sponsored meals and two presentations, “Almonds Add Essential Edge to Today’s Menu Trends” and “Taste and Texture: Almonds, a Balancing Act!”
