ABC, with the grand-prize-winning team, whose concept
is a malt cookie with brown-sugar-and-almond topping.
The annual Almond Board–
sponsored student competition in China recently concluded with the final judging of the top 10 product concepts to determine the grand prize winner. The winning concept was a malt cookie with a brown-sugar-and-almond topping. This year, the competition attracted more than 800 proposals from students at 56 universities around China. Students presented a complete product concept —
from the solution their product offers consumers to the nutritional value, feasibility of mass production, flavor profiles and a creative visual to promote the product.
ABC's objective is to encourage new ideas for almond usage from the food technologists of tomorrow while giving them an opportunity to showcase their innovations to the manufacturers of today.
