Almond Credit-Back Guidelines
Credit-Back is a voluntary program that allows handlers the opportunity to conduct and submit eligible marketing activities, as defined in the Marketing Order, in return for credit up to 60% of their total annual assessment. All industry members are eligible to participate, regardless of size. Available dollars are determined by handled weight within a given crop year.
Designed to encourage independent market promotion in addition to the Almond Board’s generic marketing efforts, the objective of the Almond Credit-Back Program is to: “Effectively promote the sale, use and consumption of California Almonds.”
However, some activities may not qualify per the criteria as set forth in the rules (§981.441). It is important to note, the Credit-Back Program is in no way meant to prohibit, limit, or discourage certain marketing activities. It is entirely at the handler’s discretion to determine what activities are beneficial to the growth of their business.
