Handler Roles and Responsibilities

Handlers are required to adhere to the mandatory pasteurization program as part of the Marketing Order’s outgoing quality standards regulations. By May 31 of each year, every handler must submit to the Almond Board of California (ABC) a Treatment Plan for the upcoming crop year, addressing specific details pertaining to the rule. Each plan shall be reviewed by the ABC in conjunction with an inspection agency to ensure it is complete and can be verified.
