What better way to infuse your holiday season with joy than to bring Joy the Baker to the table?

Top food blogger, cookbook author and podcast host Joy Wilson, of JoyTheBakerJoy the Baker Cookbook (Hyperion, 2012), and the Homefries podcast, shares her quirky twist on entertaining, decorating and cooking in her guide, A Joyous Season: Celebrate the Holidays with Joy the Baker, available exclusively
here through the Almond Board of California. You’ll love its recipes and tips – and it also makes a perfect hostess gift or stocking stuffer along with a bag of roasted almonds.

"While a lot of my recipes have been dedicated to sweet treats, I see the holidays as an opportunity to play in the kitchen, and expand my love of butter to other parts of the menu,” Wilson says. "This holiday season in particular, I'm bringing new friends together around the dinner table to create new holiday traditions that feel both classic and fresh."

According to Wilson, holiday gatherings should be interactive for both guests and hosts, and she recommends setting the mood not only with festive décor, but also with games and music, such as classic holiday tunes mixed in sparingly with her favorite playlist. But mostly, treat your guests as you would want to be treated, she says, with good company and great food.
